6. Continuation of talks on the future of the country

The first meeting of the presidents of the six Yugoslav republics occurred on March 28 in Villa Dalmatia in Split. There was not much agreement among the leaders, apart from the decision to continue their  meetings at other locations. As their lack of readiness to deescalate became apparent, the public recognized the futility of such talks, which were quickly nicknamed “the travelling circus.” It was apparent that the future of the country would be decided elsewhere.
